Leadership Team

Eleanor McDouall

Eleanor McDouall is a teacher holding a Bachelor’s degree from Simon Fraser University. She has a TESOL certificate for teaching adults from Vancouver City College. She taught for 31 years for the Vancouver School Board where she served as an English Language Teacher, Primary Teacher and Teacher Librarian. She has participated on teams for the International Teacher’s Institute travelling to Kazakhstan, Russian and Ukraine. She is married to Ian and has six grandchildren and one great grandchild.

Marsha Piechnik

Marsha Piechnik has a degree in Youth and Child Care. She has certificates in Early Childhood Education and Special Education. She is married to Andy and they have three adult children. She traveled to Ukraine with a team in 2017.

The Founders

Richard Dodding

Richard Dodding is a trained teacher, holding a Masters degree in Education focusing on Communications and Curriculum Development from the University of British Columbia. He taught in public schools in the Vancouver area of Canada, and in Kenya for over 20 years. He also served as a Faculty Associate and Sessional Lecturer in the Professional Department Program of Simon Fraser University.

Richard led teams of Canadian teachers in providing professional development for teachers of English in Ukraine, Russia and Kazakhstan most years from 1993 to 2016.

He founded Missions Fest Vancouver, giving it leadership for 25 years. Currently, Richard leads Missions Fest International.

Arlene Dodding

Arlene Dodding holds a Bachelor of Applied Science from the University of British Columbia and a Masters of Science degree from the University of Oregon with a focus on Educational Administration.

Arlene has taught for 33 years in secondary schools in Canada and Kenya, and adult education in Canada. She is retired from Principal of Continuing Education of the Maple Ridge School District #42 in British Columbia where she supervised 60 teachers and 1200 students.

She lives near Vancouver, has two married daughters (both of whom are teachers), five grandchildren and is married to Richard.
